JREY got his start in church choirs before honing his craft as a vocal ensemble director, a path that led him to tour the US and Europe with the UNC Clef Hangers, one of collegiate a cappella's most celebrated groups. During that time, he performed for audiences of more than 15,000 at a sold-out Nashville Predators halftime show and opened for John Legend at a private Super Bowl party.
After planting roots in NYC, JREY built a presence on some of the city's most respected stages, including Arlene's Grocery, The Delancey, Pianos, Nublu, Eve's Lounge, and the Sultan Room. His recent collaborations include two live performances alongside SHOUSE — the Australian electronic duo whose track "Love Tonight" has amassed over 6.6 million monthly listeners worldwide.
Beyond live performance, JREY is producing and co-narrating the audiobook Love, Loss & Lies, lending his voice to a project that extends his storytelling into a new medium.
Equally at home in concert venues and private celebrations, JREY has performed for audiences across the U.S. and abroad, with engagements spanning as far as Iceland. He also hosts a recurring open mic at Eve's Lounge in Brooklyn, continuing his commitment to building community through live music
